Elementary Clicker Training Class
This is a 6-week class in basic dog training which is held in a safe, indoor location. We will use "Clicker Training" which is a very gentle approach to shaping your dog's behavior through positive reinforcement. Using the positive and fun technique, you will learn how to teach your dog basic behaviors (such as sit, down, stay, walk on a leash and come). We will cover good manners cues (such as wait and leave-it) and some fun tricks (shake and spin). In addition we will discus problem-solving techniques (how to deal with jumping, barking, chewing, digging, handling and socialization). This is a very comprehensive class in basic dog training perfect for any adolescent or adult dog.
Class Dates: |
First class is 1 1/2-hour people-only orientation.
You may join this class up to week four if the class is not full. Contact us to see if there is room in the class. You can watch an orientation online on our website (home page – bottom left corner). You may make up week 2 and 3 in the next 6-week session. |
Class Cost: |
$135 for six classes - receive a 10 percent discount for dogs adopted from Woods Humane Society, Santa Maria Valley Humane Society, SLO Animal Services, Santa Barbara County Animal Care Foundation or any other legitimate rescue organization. |
Class Location : |
All classes are held at Gentle Touch Pet Training's training center located at 1886 Deer Canyon Road, Arroyo Grande, CA. Click here for directions. |
Vaccines : |
Dogs must be current on parvo, distemper (or have protective titers) and rabies shots. |
Registration: |
Class size is limited to approximately 10 dogs to ensure personal attention. Full payment is necessary to reserve class space. |
