Puppy Preschool
This is a 6-week class for puppies from 8 weeks to 18 weeks old. It is held in a safe, indoor location. The floor has been sanitized for your puppy's safety. We will use "Clicker Training" which is a very gentle approach to shaping your dog's behavior through positive reinforcement. Using the positive and fun technique, you will learn how to begin teaching your dog basic foundation behaviors (such as sit, down, and come). We'll also discuss housetraining, handling techniques, puppy mouthing, and learn proactive problem solving techniques for chewing, jumping up, digging, etc. This is also a critical time period where you can easily socialize your dog with people and other dogs and teach bite inhibition. (Attendance for the first class is important and is orientation for the owners only. If you cannot attend the orientation, please contact us for a DVD that you can watch prior to class.)

*The first class is a 2-hour orientation for PEOPLE ONLY and attendance is critical.
You can join this class up to week four if the class is not full. Contact our office to find out if there is room for you to join the class. You can watch the orientation online on our website (home page – lower left corner). You can then makeup the class you missed during the next 6-week session. |
Class Cost: |
$135 for six classes - receive a 10 percent discount for dogs adopted from Woods Humane Society,
SLO Animal Services, Santa Barbara County Animal Care Foundation, Santa Maria Valley Humane Society, or other legitimate rescue organizations. |

All classes are held at Gentle Touch Pet Training's training center located at 1886 Deer Canyon Road, Arroyo Grande, CA. Click here for directions. |
Vaccines : |
Dogs must be in progress of having puppy booster shots (Parvo and Distemper). |
Registration: |
Class size is limited to approximately 12 dogs to ensure personal attention. Full payment is necessary to reserve class space. |
