Tricks Clicker Class

This is 6-week class (half an hour once per week) is loads of fun for both you and your dog! Training tricks is great for a number of reasons. First, you’ll have so much fun training tricks and your dog will have such a good time learning, you’ll forget your even training! Trick training loosens up the person! Tricks make every bit as much sense to your dog as a formal “heel” or “stay.” They are all tricks to your dog! Once your dog has learned to learn, she likes to learn. There are a finite number of “obedience” cues; however, you’ll never run out of tricks. You can make them up as you go! Tricks are a great way to redirect your dog’s energy when you need to. Tricks also help to teach the dog about important handling maneuvers and reinforce other behaviors in a fun way. For instance, when you teach your dog to hold a bone on her nose until released, you are actually working on helping her learn self-control and allowing you to handle her muzzle. At the same time, you’re reinforcing “leave-it” and “wait.”
