Concept Training (Modifiers, Mimicry, Adduction) - “Stretching Your Dog’s Capabilities” - There are many conceptual ideas that require a much more focused approach to training. This seminar will review the foundation needed for training broad concepts like modifier cues, mimicry, adduction, matching to sample and other conceptual tasks. A large amount of time will be focused on step by step training procedures for modifier cue work and mimicry as a behavior. This topic is designed for experienced trainers and animals.
Handling and Dealing with Mistakes –Ken will share his perspectives regarding how a positive reinforcement trainer should deal with animal errors. He will look at the popular use of no reinforcement markers and time outs and offer more positive alternatives, particularly the use of re-direction.
Evolution of the Modern Trainer –Ken will use a review of the trajectory of his career to examine the growth and changes in the training community to help explore what is possible and how far the training community has progressed. This presentation will take a brief peek at a variety of concepts including relationship building, husbandry training, mimicry, remote training, complex chains, and so much more. This final section is less about how to do these things and more about seeing what possibilities exist.

Campgrounds / RV Parks
Three local San Luis Obispo County Parks have RV and car camping available. The pet fee is $3 per day per pet. You can find more information on each park at www.slocountyparks.org. Phone numbers for each park are also listed below:
- Oceano Campground (805) 781-4900
- Coast Dunes RV Park (805) 781-4900
- Lopez Lake Campground (805) 788-2381
There are also numerous private RV parks in the area. The closest is Pismo Coast Village; 888-RVBEACH www.pismocoastvillage.com. (Unfortunately, I noticed that they now list breed restrictions “due to insurance requirements” so check the website.)
