Why you shouldn't nag your dog

Hi I'm Wesley from Thousand Hills Pet Resort and Gentle Touch Pet Training.
So, we're doing Training Tip Tuesdays. The first training tip I want to talk to you about is repeating or nagging your dog.

When you're told to do something over, and over again, it starts to lose its meaning. And it's the same thing that happens with your dogs. What I suggest is that you wait them out. Give them time. For instance, if I say "down" to a dog over and over again, they would probably stop responding.

So my suggestion is that whenever you're training your dog, ask them to do what it is that you want them to do, and give and wait them out. Right? Give them a minute them time to think about it. Give them time, and wait them out. Right? Give them a minute depending– dependent on the dog.

Some dogs take a while to think about it. Let them think about it, and then ask them again. Make sure that you get their attention, they look at you. Right? And then you ask them again. Try it out, and happy training.
