MINDFUL TRAINING FOR PEAK PERFORMANCE

A Mental Management® Seminar
with Teah Anders, CNWI, CMMI, CPDT-KA

Imagine stepping into a competition feeling calm, confident, and fully prepared—not only with the skills you’ve trained, but also with the mental tools to perform your best under pressure.

If you’ve ever struggled with any of these, this seminar is for you:

  • Trial nerves – the stress before the start line or on trial day

  • Negative thoughts – doubts that creep in during trials, training, or everyday life

  • Negative people – in trials, training, or anywhere

  • Comparison – to other teams, dogs, or people

  • Confidence – building belief in yourself, your team, and your abilities

  • Motivation – for both dog sports and personal growth

  • Focus – staying mentally clear before and during the search

  • Handling distractions – responding effectively when things don’t go as planned

Seminar Format & Topics

In this Mental Management® Seminar, we’ll cover four core areas:

Session 1 – The Mental Management Model
Learn how to balance effort with ease so you can stay present, relaxed, and connected with your dog throughout the trial day.

Session 2 – The Mental Management System®
Gain practical tools to replace doubts and distractions with empowering, purposeful thoughts during competition.

Session 3 – Performance Under Pressure
Discover how to channel nervous energy into sharp focus and transform competition-day jitters into motivation.

Session 4 – Building Self-Image & Goal Setting
Take control of your mindset and self-image so you can approach trials—and life—with confidence. We’ll also discuss setting meaningful Nose Work goals.

Applying Mental Management to Nose Work

During the seminar, dog/handler teams will perform Nose Work searches. We’ll break down each search to apply Mental Management concepts in real time, followed by group discussions and Q&A. Auditors may also be invited to participate—don’t worry, it’s fun and supportive!

We can accommodate 16 working teams plus auditors.

  • In-Person Seminar: Sessions 1–3 plus hands-on Nose Work applications

  • Online Session: Session 4 (recorded and available for 30 days for all participants)
