AUDITORS WELCOME!!
Join us for a two-day Nose Work seminar including lecture and handler/dog team demonstrations with coaching from Silke Wittig. The Saturday seminar will be at Gentle Touch Pet Training center. The Sunday seminar will be held in a fun trial-like location in Arroyo Grande. We will be addressing two topics during the seminar and offer training solutions for every experience level, from basic to advanced.
Seminar Topics:
Environmental Distractions– (Saturday 10/18/25)-Held at Gentle Touch Pet Training- Come tackle the tricky task of Environmental Distractions.
Motivation/Focus- (Sunday 10/19/25)-Held at Arroyo Grande Women’s Club
Bump up your team’s focus by using these motivation techniques!
Seminar Format:
The seminar format will include lecture and running 16 demo dogs Saturday and 8 dogs on Sunday with input from Silke on the searches/handling. Whether you are running a demo dog or watching and listening, there will be lots to learn from one of our favorite NW experts!
We will select demo dogs based on participants that have registered for the seminar. Priority will be given to 2-day seminar registrants and GTPT clients. We will accept demo dogs for one slot only, allowing 24 teams to participate with their dogs in demonstrations. If you are interested in a demo spot, you will need to complete the separate “Demo Dog Request” Questionnaire. The deadline for submitting a demo dog request is October 6. We are looking for a variety of breeds, sizes, ages and experience in the dogs selected so that everyone participating in the seminar can benefit from nose work demonstrations. Dogs need to be on all three odors. Demo dogs must be comfortable in a seminar setting. Please no reactive, aggressive or environmentally sensitive dogs. We will select 8 dogs to demo in the morning and 8 different dogs to demo in the afternoon for Saturday and 8 for Sunday. We will let you know if your dog is selected by October 7. If your dog is selected there will be an additional $60 fee. We will send you a link for payment and request the additional payment within 48 hours. We will also send a questionnaire about your dog to enable Silke to know a little more about your team.
Once attendee registration/demo dog registration is full, we will provide a waitlist.
